The Sandbox, a blockchain-based metaverse game that plans to create an immersive virtual reality world where players can explore and interact with one another has scored $93 million in investment from Softbank’s Vision Fund 2. The company expects this new funding round will help them expand their proposal even further as they continue creating VR content for gamers.
The Sandbox, which is owned by Animoca Brands has experienced explosive growth since its creation. With more than 500K users having an in-game wallet now and celebrities like Snoop Dogg making deals to allow digital alter egos of themselves.
